The Nankang Sportnex CR-S stands out as an Extreme Performance Summer tire meticulously crafted for individuals engaging in track days, motorsports, or seeking a high level of dry traction and handling for spirited driving. Tailored for optimal performance in warm, dry to slightly damp conditions, this tire, like all counterparts in its category, is unsuitable for storage, service, or operation in near or below-freezing temperatures, snowy, or icy conditions.

Engineered with a focus on performance, Nankang has developed the Sportnex CR-S from the ground up, featuring a novel tread compound designed for swift attainment of the ideal operating temperature. This track-oriented compound is molded into an asymmetric tread pattern, emphasizing speed. The outer tread elements with broad shoulders minimize void for exceptional lateral grip, while an intermediate circumferential groove assists in heat dissipation during aggressive driving. Additionally, two inner grooves work in tandem with the intermediate groove to evacuate water, preventing hydroplaning and ensuring driver control.

Internally, the Sportnex CR-S boasts a two-ply polyester casing to elevate handling and stability. The tread area is supported by two wide steel belts, reinforced by a robust Aramid cap ply to enhance handling and high-speed capabilities. The tire's sidewall compound is strategically designed for heat management, enhancing stiffness to provide a responsive and predictable driving experience.

Important to note is that temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower can negatively impact the tire's specialized rubber compounds. In such cases, the tires should be gradually brought back to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for a minimum of 24 hours before any adjustments, such as inflation pressure changes, mounting, or usage to support, roll, or drive a vehicle.

It's essential to be aware that the specialized rubber compounds in Extreme Performance Summer tires may experience irreversible cracking in cold weather. Although compound cracking is not covered under warranty due to improper use or storage, tires displaying such cracking must be replaced.
